- Captured here is the Charlotte Amalie Harbour. The Rum Distillery towers in the center of the photograph. The business section of warehouses, faces the protective bay looking west into French Town. (This photograph mirrors a 1938 painting by Aubrey Ottley for Time magazine. The Catholic church (now a cathedral) stands across the white plaster of Jerkin-head roof that has many gables and a hip, a warehose with many gables, recently converted into into shops and offices. The arches of the colonial bank (that housed a concert hall upstairs), are part of the iron-work pillars, and balconies at Green Corner.
