Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to determine whether an individuals' personality type has any association with their level of motivation and academic outcome. The sample population consists of 739 undergraduate students enrolled in SCI 100 course at the University of the Virgin Islands. Secondary data collected from an Educational Research Project was utilized. Responses from the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI) and Zimbardo's Time Perspective Inventory (ZPTI), as well as grade point average and other academic scores were utilized from the data. Motivational factors gathered from survey responses were analyzed. In order to determine the existence of a relationship between these variables, descriptive analysis t-tests and qualitative analysis was completed on the data collected.
