About dLOC Funeral Booklets Collection
The Enid M. Baa Library of the Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums (DLAM) has acquired an extensive collection of memorial booklets since the early 1970's for U. S. Virgin Islands residents. Booklets are usually more than 10 pages long and give details of the life and family connections of the deceased.
Permission to create electronic reproductions was requested from family members who donated booklets to the Baa Library. Public service announcements promoting the digitization project have also been used to request copyright permissions from family members. Signed copyright releases are kept at the Baa Library.
This collection was contributed to the multi-institutional collaborative Digital Library of the Caribbean (dLOC) project by the University of the Virgin Islands. Visit the dLOC to view materials submitted by over a hundred partner institutions.
